Living with coeliac disease is like being handed a lifetime subscription to surprises. You think it’s just stomach issues? Oh, sweet summer child. You’re in for a treat (spoiler: it’s not gluten-free cake).
After years of navigating this autoimmune minefield, I decided it was time to list every known symptom of coeliac disease in one place. Why? Because even I was shocked at how many there are—and I live with it every day.
We’re talking everything from the classic (bloating, fatigue, "I think I might actually die if I eat that sandwich") to the unexpected ("Why is my skin doing that?" and "Wait, that’s a symptom too?!").
I wrote this post with a good dose of humour, sarcasm, and that special kind of coeliac frustration we all know too well. And apparently, that hit a nerve—in the best way.
This post became the most popular one I’ve ever written, pulling in over 1300 views in a single day. That’s nearly double my previous best.
So clearly, it’s not just me lying awake wondering if weird leg pain, mood swings, and random vitamin deficiencies are part of the gluten-free circus.
If you’re coeliac, suspect you might be, or just want to understand why your gluten-free mate is constantly tired, bloated, or googling obscure symptoms at 2am, this post is for you.

And if you’ve got a weird coeliac symptom of your own, drop it in the comments. Let’s build the most painfully relatable list on the internet.
Because apparently, misery does love company—and so do gluten-free rants.
